File Protection Desktop 8.0.0.275 for Windows introduces the following issue resolution:

Upgrade Results in Shortcut Removal

The upgrade from File ProtectionDesktop versions 7.x (Autotask Endpoint Backup) to 8.0 (Datto File Protection) in the 2019.3 Service Update resulted in the deletion of third party.
